Women Artists Exhibition
The exhibition explores Jewish, women, emigre artists who were affected by the Holocaust. Using works from the Ben Uri collection, the project will consider how circumstances contributed to their relative obscurity, and aims to locate these artists within the greater narrative of British art history from which they have so often been excluded. The project has particular significance for 2018, as the UK sees the launch of a number of initiatives, which mark the Centenary of the Women’s Vote and explore issues of female equality. It will also coincide with Refugee Week 2018.
