Wetherby Art Loan Scheme holds exhibitions twice a year in the Town Hall, Wetherby Market Place, nr Leeds. The scheme allows for paintings to be hired by residents in the area for a fee of £20 until the next exhibition in 6 months time. The painting can then be bought by paying the balance or can be returned to the artist. Unframed paintings,prints and cards are available for sale only. The exhibition is free and there is a lift and disabled access. This (possibly unique) scheme allows buyers to take home paintings and make a considered decision on purchase. As a result it attracts professional artists in many media painting a variety of subjects from traditional landscape and flower paintings to wildlife and abstracts.
