Weaver Vale Art Society

Weaver Vale Art Society

Painting group for intermediate to advanced artists; every Monday (Tues on last week in the month) 1.00pm - 5.00pm at Acton Bridge Parish Rooms, Acton Bridge, Cheshire. Exceptionally friendly group, staging regular exhibitions & assisting in promoting members' artwork.

A small group of local artists are inviting others with intermediate to advanced skills to join them in a recently formed Cheshire based Art Society with its venue in Acton Bridge. The group meets weekly on Mondays (Tues in the last week of the month) in Acton Bridge Parish Rooms, Hill Top Road from 1.00pm until 5.00pm.The sessions do not include any 'teaching' element but are solely for the purpose of painting in the company of like minded others in an informal & friendly environment with the aim of producing periodic exhibitions that include the work of all members, groups of members or individuals in order to promote & market the talents of the Society. Demonstrations & talks by visiting artists are also planned. Tony O'Neill, one of the founder members & Chairman of Weaver Vale Art Society, said 'At the moment, artists in this area have few opportunities to develop their skills as most of the existing art classes are aimed at leisure painters. There seems to be a gap in the local art group network that we are hoping to fill by appealing to those with talent & experience to join together to support each other, to expand their horizons on a regular basis & to create opportunities for the society's members to achieve recognition within the wider art scene'. The half yearly membership fee of £50.00 includes unlimited access to the sessions, with tea & coffee also provided. If you would like to join Weaver Vale Art Society, just take along your paints, brushes & paper; you are assured of a warm welcome.
