Upcycle! Art Fest

Artists from around the world are expected to qualify for the Upcycle! Art Fest, Sanibel Island’s first fine arts and crafts festival to require 60 percent usage of repurposed and re-envisioned materials. The educational and entertaining event will directly benefit wildlife and its habitat at J.N. ‘Ding’ Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island. Besides demonstrating the importance of recycling and conservation, it will offer visitors opportunities to purchase one-of-a-kind pieces and even try their hand at it. The art fest, hosted by “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society-Friends of the Refuge, will tie in with Earth Day celebrations at the Refuge the weekend prior with community-wide events. Art fest weekend will include an arts marketplace, recycled crafts projects and demonstrations, healthy and sustainable food vendors, and more.
