PAINTING STAGE SCENERY FOR THE MUSICAL THEATRE

PAINTING STAGE SCENERY FOR THE MUSICAL THEATRE

The Bramshott and Liphook Art and Crafts Society present an evening on scenery design. The event will be held at the Liphook Millennium Centre and will start at 19:30. Admission is free to members and non-members are welcome with an admission fee of only £3.

Andy has produced stage scenery for local musical theatre groups in Petersfield for the last 35 years. He will use examples drawn from a number of well known musicals to illustrate some of the painting techniques used in his work for the stage. The examples will be drawn from popular shows such as Fiddler on the Roof; Oklahoma; and South Pacific as well as Gilbert & Sullivan favourites including The Gondoliers and The Mikado. During the evening, Andy will show pictures of stage sets he has created; explain their design and the painting techniques used; and then give a live demonstration of some of them. Andy also paints land & seascapes and will have some of this work on show during the evening.
