An exhibition featuring over a 100 pieces of work as a response to the gallery’s open call. The work includes painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. The content ranges from abstraction to realism, to the decorative and the representational. Established and emerging artists plus student and lecturers’ works are on show. The work would make heavenly Christmas gifts or even as a treat for yourself. Gift vouchers and an interest free purchase scheme are available. The free exhibition continues until Thursday 22 December.

This year’s annual winter open has attracted over 100 pieces of art. From a nationwide ‘call out’ submissions came from across Wales, the South West, London and even Austria. Works were submitted by local established artists, for example, Philippa Sibert and Osi Rhys Osmond, to student and lecturers from Carmarthen School of Art, to emerging artists, far and wide. Lynne Crompton, curator and gallery manager, added that it was important to offer a platform for artists, irrespective of training and status. Crompton joked that this year’s show will resemble that of the Royal Academy! The works on show include paintings, drawings, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. From abstraction to realism, to the decorative and representational, most media have been presented. As Christmas draws nearer, the Winter Open provides a great opportunity to purchase work as presents or as a treat for yourself. Gift vouchers and an interest free purchase scheme are available. The gallery opens weekly, every Wednesday to Saturday, from 10am till 5pm. Other times for viewing the gallery are available by request.
