As part of the huge Northwich River Weaver Festival, artists and retailers in Northwich town centre, Cheshire, are getting together in a brand new arts initiative to put life and colour in the town. Local professional, amateur and student artists will be displaying their paintings in shop windows between 11th-24th June. Artists are also being encouraged to paint en plein air during the two weeks leading up to the river festival weekend 22-24th June when prizes will be awarded for winners of each of the following four categories. 1.Inspired by Northwich, 2.People and Places, 3.Nature and Wildlife, 4. Waterways. Around 70 retailers and 50 artists will be participating. There will be a free prize draw for members of the public who vote for their favourite painting.
