Harrow Open Studios is an independent organisation run by its members and comprises 34 professional and semi-professional Fine and Applied Artists, some internationally renowned, working in a variety of media. Members include painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, ceramicists, jewellers, textile artists, a book artist, a puppet maker, and a blacksmith. We open our homes or studios in June each year and welcome visitors to meet us and view our work for sale. We welcome questions on techniques and processes, offer refreshments, and are happy to discuss a purchase or commission. In 2011 we will be inviting the public into our homes and studios during 2 weekends in June and will be showing in 26 venues across the London Borough of Harrow and in neighbouring areas. A FREE brochure listing our artists will be available from all public libraries in the Harrow area from May 2011. Brochures may also be downloaded from our web site www.harrowopenstudios.com where you will find more information on the work of individual artists together with their specific opening days and times. We are building links into the community as we make this a successful annual event. Our Children’s Art Competition is open to students up to the age of 16 and small groups of school students are welcome to visit the Open Studios events.
