Every now and then, someone goes to delete an image from their Gallery, and manages to delete the whole Gallery. I have been known to gently tease such people. Couldn't happen to me, I inferred. No flies on me.... But I was forgetting that cognac, of which I had a slurp last night, is not the friend of good judgement. While deleting an image I had unintentionally downloaded (wrong picture selected) I managed to squelch my whole People portfolio - gorn, and never called me mother, basically. The morals of this story are several. One, never tease people for making errors you have not - yet - made yourself: because you will. Two, when you have supped a fortifying dose of the REAL amber nectar (clue; it ain't beer) do NOT post comments on any forum, including Facebook and Twitter; do not write any emails, and worse still send them before achieving sobriety first, since you will probably discover what seemed to you like a cogent, fair if forceful criticism was actually an hysterical rant; break up with boyfriend, girlfriend, wife, husband, dog - unless they are similarly pickled, and will have forgotten by the morning; try wiring a plug, sewing on a button, replace a tap washer, drive a car; do anything on a computer, even down to switching it on. This is excellent advice, from which the unwary can but benefit. How I wish I'd taken it myself.
