I thought it time to shed a few oldies whilst uploading three new pieces. I have finished the outstanding portrait commissions and returned to the more figurative landscape and urbanscape paintings that have been neglected for the past few months. Output has slowed down somewhat. Afraid the ticker is not up to scratch these days and more time is spent with a little light exercise and putting an equal strain on all parts - a phrase well acquainted to ex-service personnel who will associate it with the other activity of 'pit bashing'. I attend a Life Class now once a week and I think it has had a beneficial effect upon my paintings generally but particularly of figures. Certainly, if nothing else, the 'timed' sessions have helped to speed up my paintings in oil. That came as a very pleasant surprise. No nudes - All clothed poses, which is what I wanted as I put so many figures into my oils and you do not see too many nudes walking around the highways and byways even out here in Sunny Spain.
