Thea's Blog

I am a watercolourist first and foremost as I love the medium for it's transparency, it's riskiness and the way you have to work in harmony with it rather than micro-managing it. I also prefer a loose and colourful style of painting, which is rather strange as in normal life I am a very controlled person - lots of cushion plumping and a hefty dose of what I suspect is OCD. Perhaps letting go of the control of the paint is cathartic for me and gives me some respite from my ordered life - who knows - or it may be that when I paint I am just a bit messy. I started painting about 7 years ago and it has now become an integral part of my life. In fact, if I don't have something on the go on my easel, I have this vague feeling of unease and guilt - painting is definitely something that gives me peace of mind. I have no idea where my painting is going or where it will end up, but I am enjoying the journey (as they say on the X Factor!). I have had no formal training, don'

I am struggling to understand how this Blog area works. To add this post, I ended up deleting my first post - not sure how I did that. All I was looking for was an 'add a new post' button but couldn't find it. On the old site you put the title of your blog, added your bit of blurb about yourself and then put a post on it. People added comments to this post. Then if you wanted to add a post on a different subject, i.e starting in effect a new thread, you clicked on the 'add new post' button and did exactly that, and so on. It seems different on the new site, so if anyone can shed any light on how it works, then I would be grateful for any morsels of information.

Thank you Julie. I have managed to finally find the 'add post' button and will try that when I next add a post. Fingers crossed...!!

Lovely photograph, Thea. The "save" option has caught me out a few times as you need to scroll to the bottom and click it. I think that I may have pressed "return" at some point in the programme, without realising and ended up losing what I'd written. The "add post" option also has a + symbol, so you can't miss it, I suppose, but then on a busy pc screen, it's possible - even for a young "techie"!

Go to your Blog Page, click 'add item' enter Title (summary if you wish) write your blog in the article bit add image if required. I haven't found a way to keep adding to a blog though :(
