Soft Pastels. To smudge or not to smudge?
The quest to breath life and energy into my pastel work

It's a New Year, and the resolutions are coming thick and fast! I love the feeling that a fresh start brings, after a few weeks off over Christmas, It's good to have an exhibition, stand back and look at your work and then have time to reflect,...
So the resolutions?
1.To spend more time working from life, out in the landscape, (brrr...), with real people rather than photos in front of me, or out in the fields with horses.
2. To improve my knowledge of the anatomy of horses, by drawing from a life size model of a skeleton, learning about muscle structure, and again, spending more time watching the horses moving and drawing drawing drawing.
3. To enjoy more ways of sharing my love of pastels by developing more courses to teach.
So watch this space, hopefully by writing it down I will make it happen. First to find that skeleton....
