a couple of weeks ago i attempted to paint a portriat of a friend from a photo, i was not very happy with the results. i had posted it on my website and have had lots of good feedback. a friend of mine said to try a self portrait. so out cam the digital camera and i took a snap of myself. may i add that i have not had any sort of tuition to do with art. So i draw the outlines in a canvas and started painting. I have found it a very strange experience its a bit like looking at yourselt through a fairground mirror. although i have found that it has taught me a lot about the use of tone and mixing tone that only have a tiny difference. If anyone has and advise it would be much appreciated
