On one Photo sharing site there are a large number of fabulous car watercolours by a Ukranian artist. I have commented favourably on his work and as a result have now been contacted by a photographer who is upset that the painter has used his photographs as the basis of the watercolours. Personaly I almost exclusively use photographs I have taken ("made") myself and so have some sympathy with the photographer? however the finished works are so "abstracted" that they could be considered as origional. At what point do we give credit to the "maker" of the photograph when we use it in our work?????
