My Craft Fair

My Craft Fair

This blog is just about how i have gone from a very amateur stand to a professional craft fair.

When i started doing craft fairs, i found my nervs kicked in not knowing if it would work for me but hone trying to get yourself out there especially in the art world i feel you just have to jump in with both feet and now i have a very successful stand which we all know will still need adapting over time and when getting more money. The art industry is probably one of the most hardest to get into in order to do it full time, it takes patients, time and of course money, i found i was working 2 other jobs just to try and fund this but now it pays for it self. Any way i was hear to talk about how to improve your craft stand. on my first one i just put what i can where i could with whatever i had in my studio, part from buying a cardboard card holder and greeting cards printed from my artwork. need less to say it was ok i made enough to cover my cost of the stand and received a commission. By the time my first stand was over all i kept thinking was i need to improve this, asking questions like how can i improve this to make a impact, so i looked over my photos of the day to see what i could do. What i realised is there was no set style to my stall, looking through styles i liked i picked a more rustic route. buying lots of material and making as much as i can to make it really pop now we are getting somewhere. Once i created this it worked a treat making money, selling art and creating a bigger customer base. so my word of advise is stick to a style ensure important info is prominent and remember less is more don't bombarded it.
