So for my 50th birthday my incredible wife brought me an original Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet (original vacuum form moulds, made in Twickenham, where once was home!, a long time ago...) It's my thinking hat (it's not, but it caused a lot of life reflection) I've always drawn, sold a few, I keep innumerable sketch books, exhibited a bit in France, and married a Silversmith nearly three years ago. Kirsten, said silversmith, pointed out she has been selling her craft for years with no formal creative qualifications, yet I, husband, did not sell - (Art College trained Graphic Designer and qualified D&T teacher, 6 years of study all told, including a brutal QTS/PGCE year) My joy of teaching is finding talent in whatever subject, hopefully mine, but, I try to find and polish whatever gold nugget is hidden in my students, (they ALL have one somewhere). My high school Art teacher inspired me to go to Art College, a life changing moment in Year 3, Y9 in new money. I'd rather neglected to listen to my own advice, and paint some more. I've opened an Etsy shop and am searching a local gallery to sell through, and listen more to the beauty that sits to my left on the couch.
