La Dolce Vita

La Dolce Vita

Heart Art

I am 56 years of age. I retired from nursing at the end of 2004 and then attended Art School for 3 years. This year I had to arrange a solo exhibition which opened on the 16th November 2007 and will be run for 2 weeks. My theme "La Dolce Vita" the sweet life, is based on photographs I took during a wonderful holiday in Italy 2006. I have 44 paintings on exhibition in a variety of mediums. Namely water colour and ink; ink; acrylic/ palette knife; acrylic /brush; mixed media and oil /brush. The art work I downloaded into my gallery, are examples from the exhibition. I am so thankful for the opportunity that I now have to develop my art. I live in South Africa.

Thanks for your comments I will post some portraits soon, I love sketching, I call them sketching because there's limited time to get them done. These people can get off at any time. I looked at your site and I think it is amazing. You do a great variety of stuff. You can see some portraits I have done on adebanjialade.co.uk

I think that your sketches/drawings are lovely - when at art college ( 35 years ago) we talked about the difference between a sketch and a drawing? Is a sketch simply a quick drawing or an excuse for a bad drawing? :-) In your case I am happier to call them strong quick drawings, well seen, loosely created in style but very well executed. I do hope to see you showing your portraits in other mediums soon in the gallery? Or have I already missed them only just joining? peterwoodarts.com
