It Is So Annoying!

Why is it that we look after our framed paintings well but Art exhibitions are blase about how they handle them?` I have had the first of the year, entry form for a local exhibition in and i'm in two minds about entering. The main reason is that the paintings are piled up , one on top of the other until they are put up. Admittedly, when I pick them up at the end of the show, I just take them off the wall but then I think of the other art shows that I do where they are all leaning up against a wall, where the floors are highly polished too so that they sometimes slip over. I was taught to put glass to glass and then back to back if I needed to pile up paintings but many do not do this and dents appear. This morning I ironed out the dents on one of my frames ( I picked up this little tip on the forum last year and, yes ,it does work). I then waxed the frame and inspected it for any other nicks but it seems OK, but why do I bother? I am going to enter it into this exhibition , and hopefully it will sell and not come back to me with more dents in it.
