A busy week altogether. Tidying up the studio after the mayhem of getting work etc., for Morvah. A complete change from my usual painting routine as we have had a portrait model as well as the usual life model. I find I do more interesting [I hope] portraits if I use a black background rather than white or cream. Feel more liberated with colour and it seems to feed into the form and modelling of the face. Anyway have four acrylics and two charcoals and am building up quite a number of portrait heads. Bit of a surprise really as have never thought of self as portrait painter.
