Just received a mail from the organisers of the Rochemaure Salon. It lasted 9 days and there were 220 watercolours permantly on show. 60 paintings were sold !!!! and each was replaced immediately by one in stock. They had 7000 catalogues printed and distributed free. In fact every thing was free, except the paintings!, as they consider that art should be made available to as many people as possible. Every participant had to do either a demo' or talk about their work/s. The demos took place outside in the shade of huge plane trees with the chateau as a backdrop. I watched Keiko Tanabe a Japanese American lady do hers. Very impressive. If I can manage I'll post one of me describing my work !
