Been a while
Summer's come and seemingly gone. Had to put the heating on for an hour this morning. My son gave me his old laptop yesterday so now I have my own
computer, great! Hadn't been to my local art group for a while but managed last week. Made not too bad an effort of a watercolour from a photo I took in Bruges a couple of weeks ago.
As usual I''ve been trying a different media so i got out my few oil paints and had a go. I was short of a few colours so I used my Markal Paintstiks for some of the colours, I rubbed the colour onto a piece of Freezer paper I had wrapped round a piece of foamboard to use as a disposable palette .
Then used a variety of solvents, ( Sansodor,Zest-it, and I think Turpentine, It's so long since iv'e used oils I only had tiny amounts of each) to make a paint workable with a .brush. They worked very well. I didn't have any tube Titianium white, but I did have an ancient tube of Flake white which was still workable. After a great stuggle and sore hands I managed to get the lid of the tube, it was softer than I thought It would be. I did a bit of online research and it seems to have been a very popular white at one time.
A bit toxic though with lead in it.
I'll continue this later as I've got to get to the dentist
