Hi Phil, I agree with your last comment and think about my childhood when, in 1947 there was so much snow that we built an igloo in our backyard, it was there for weeks and so warm inside. We built walls of snow for barricades to hide behind and had snowball fights with the kids along the road. We still had to go to school as the caretaker kept the place warm and the buses had chains around their wheels for grip in the snow so people got to work. The farmer brought milk into the village but instead of using the horse and cart he hitched his tractor to the cart. He was a bit late but we got our supplies. The women of the village baked bread because the shops couldn't get it delivered. The only person to own a pair of skis' used them to ski down the slopes in the Forestry Commission's plantation. There were huge snowmen galore and we sledged and slid in the streets and school playgrounds. People should throw away their cotton wool and enjoy life, whatever the weather.

No it's awful white stuff that paralyses this once Great Nation...
