What a great Sunday morning. I spent the time at the kitchen table experimenting with watercolour pencils and pastels, not a great picture in the end but I learned something. My 5 year old daughter was buzzing around as usual and became fascinated by what I was doing. "Dad, can I have a go" was soon uttered so I let her have a go with my watercolour pencils. She was captured by the idea of painting with a pencil and after a quick sketch of a tree and some flowers she decided to draw around her hands and feet. Then I broke the point on one of my pastel pencilsand gave her the broken point in a palette to make paint from. She loved it and gave her drawn feet some purple nail varnish. My wife was in the dining room all this time doing some cardmaking and rubber stamping as she is into craft. She saw what we were doing and presented me with some more watercolour pencils, "I never use them so you have them" she said. This gave me many more colours than I had in my small set and improved my picture! A great couple of hours of family art, must do it again!
