Most of you know I am a disabled artist. My illness is an ongoing autoimmune illness (body attacks itself) I have had since being a child. I wish to share this as it is important for others to get an understanding of my artwork and how physically limited I am. My Birth year is 1981 I live in France with my family. I am mainly a paper artist though i have painted on walls, glass, ceramics, wood, shells, and pebbles in the past. I paint everyday, for most of the day unless i am adding artwork to websites/online galleries :-) My artistic interests are PAINTS! :-p wow, I love paints, and drawing materials, paper, all artistic materials :-) my favourites at the moment are ........... charcoal sticks, watercolour paints, acrylic paints, sketching pencils, watercolour pencils, and i prefer sketchbooks to single sheets of paper, sketch pads are ok, but actual hardback sketchbooks/watercolour books i prefer as the hardback part protects the paper better, spiral bound is ok for me too, and does open better and means less fighting with the spine of the books (less hand strain for me) but, I like choice, so sometimes i will choose what i like, and not what is easier for me :-p I am not into arty technology if that makes sense, painting programmes on computers etc, computers give me headaches and i can only be on them for short bursts at a time, some days are better than others. I have only recently created a personal art website full of my artwork as i was worried my paintings could be stolen by viewers downloading them etc, but then I read about artists copyright laws online which made me feel better and convinced me if i wanted people to see my artwork, i would need to create a site they could visit, i have loads and loads of paintings, so a website was needed and is www.rebeccalouisesaunders.weebly.com about once a year i ave a day when i get really inspired and create 30 or so paintings, no bigger than A4 in size, and normally quick and expressive pieces :-) I will only use Non-Toxic products where I can, and try to look for 100% light-fastness where possible. Thankfully most art paper is acid free which helps with keeping artwork lasting for ever :-) I want my paintings to live forever and make people smile, silly I know, but that is me :-) I also think that any mark is artistic expression. So what inspires me? art materials children's Television shows Children's fantasy fiction books in particular The Charmed Bracelet bird song, flowers/tree blossom General old tv programmes like Murder She Wrote, i call them innocent murder programmes, which i know you all may think is senseless, but it makes sense to me :-) I like innocent nice calming things :-) my list will keep being added to as and when, but I wonder what inspires all of you? :-)
