A good start!

A good start!

A good start!

Arriving at 7pm at the Hall yesterday evening, the lady was ready to leave and all her paintings were in the car! Her friend arrived earlier and we could start our work immediately. I was so relieved!! Because we had to remove some furniture, I had to reorganise the plan I made before. My husband, being a 'handy Harry', climbed on and of the ladder, while I was unpacking the paintings. We worked until half past 10 and started this morning at half past 8 for the finishing touches. All of the 45 paintings, my C.V., visiting-cards, post-cards, lists, lunch... was displayed at 10 to 10 and we opened the entrance doors!!! At 10am sharp the first viewer came in. As I was expecting, the Mayor came in at 11am and I guided him around. It is his last month in the job because he will be 65 in October and he told me he is looking foreward to his pension. We know him since he was a student, my husband gave him some math lessons when he was at college. The weather forecast was: at least 28°C for the coast, so hundreds of people came by car and train to Blankenberge. We never had a day like that during the summer months! There even was a direct train from Luxemburg to Blankenberge. For my first day I had 71 visitors!!! The Hall being in the main street leading from the station to the beach, a lot came in in T-shirt and bermuda, so I knew they were just looking but I was very pleased. I got a lot of nice comments. Now, I am going to sleep because the weather forecast for tomorrow is the same as for today and I am a "little bit" tired. Wish you all the best and thank you for your good wishes! :) Mia
