I paint everyday people, places and things. I want to display their beauty for those who might not have noticed it without my help. I like to paint people in motion, the light modelling their bodies and clothes, and the shadows they cast. Light and shadow are also the main characters in my cityscapes, landscapes and portraits. I paint in watercolours, with a very limited palette of bright pigments. I’m childishly fascinated by the miracle of colour mixing. The watercolour medium demands a spontaneous attitude that I’m happy to embrace. Things happen, and you deal with them, like in life.
