My interest in art only really began when my late mother started painting during the 1980's after she was diagnosed with MS. Although I knew little about art I painted along with her using a few pans of water colour and then on to acrylics which I have used in almost all my paintings. I love the strength of colour you get from acrylics and of course, the ability to paint over any mistakes! I do not concentrate on any particular subject matter but happy to tackle whatever appeals at the time. I attend a weekly art class in Sheffield under the guidance of a retired art teacher and look forward to learning new techniques and exploring the styles of different artists.
