Biography

I started to paint 4.5 years ago. I use acrylics and oils and mainly canvas on board and most of my portraits are 38 cms x 60 cms or thereabouts. Am still very much a beginner but really enjoying the process and learning every step of the way! I go to art class once a week which is great. I find painting portraits really good to do but go through stages where I think 'oh no, I haven't captured the likeness and then it's tortuous but generally have always managed to persevere (painful) but get there in the end. I really like doing eyes but have always found lips the hardest - in my view they make or break the likeness. Would love to paint in a looser style but find myself always drawn back to more detail so I suppose that's my 'style'!
