Biography

I am a figurative artist working and living in Cheshire, England. I work in charcoal & oils, painting and drawing my favourite subjects: cricket and wildlife. Having taken up drawing over 15 years ago I now enjoy working as a full time artist from my home studio. I have exhibited with the Society of Graphic Fine Art for the past two years and my artwork has been featured in both The Leisure Painter Magazine and The Artist & Illustrator Magazine. Being a cricket fan I particularly enjoy representing moments in games, capturing the twisted body movements of cricketers and the unnatural positions they get themselves into - figure drawing in a modern context. Charcoal does this beautifully, it's a very expressive medium, allowing me to represent my subjects with strong, bold strokes as well as close sensitive details. Birds and wildlife have always been close to my heart, I enjoy being outside, exploring, photographing, collecting natural studies and chatting away into my Instagram Stories. In my current work I am exploring ways to be increasingly expressive, inviting the viewer to weave their own stories into the pieces. You can read more about me and what I'm up to in the 'About' section of my website or follow me on social media to keep up to date. Feel free to Contact Me with any queries....
