Biography

As a very young girl at school I remember painting a picture of a boat on the sea. It was probably just a red and blue splodge but I was commended for it and from then on I fell in love with trying to make recognisable images. My early work was mostly detailed drawings but later I started to experiment with colour and painting. I now love to combine the drawing and graphic techniques with more decorative and colourful ideas. Mixing different media together and sometimes adding collage has allowed me to become more expressive. I particularly like being able to convey texture and pattern. More recently I have been painting with gesso and then drawing and painting on to the surface with watercolour pencils and sandpaper. Really I'm still just trying to make splodges into recognisable images.
