Jacqueline Hobson

Biography

I have always wanted to learn how to paint with watercolors. Once I retired I played around a bit finding things on YouTube or other online instruction. Then I somehow stumbled across Anna Mason and her beautiful watercolor botanicals. I tried one of her tutorials and was hooked. I've been enrolled in the Anna Mason online art school for about 2.5 years now and painting has become my passion. I'm so grateful for her talent and generosity, she has helped me pursue something that I have always wanted to do. I'm using the skills that I am learning from her (and others now) and applying them to other compositions, hoping to eventually create a style that's all mine. In the meantime, I post the art that is the result of my learning, sometimes using reference photos from the artists I follow. I hope to someday be able to produce art that is more "my own", my own compositions. For now I am learning the mechanics of painting and applying those skills as I continue my journey in watercolors. I am also enjoying the amazing talent displayed here, it's truly inspiring!
