my name is Anton Gunter and i am Managing director of Global Freight Services ltd based in the UK. we have had several phone calls from artists requesting rates for shipment to the USA. Every time we dig a bit deeper it turns out the scammers are in full swing. The contact is normally buying artwork for an anniversary or birthday and wants the artist to ship the goods and pay for the shipment nd when it arrives they will pay for it. Please do some homework on your clients, because the above is a scam I know it is because we have now fielded the same calls from artists and hopefully stopped them sending the lovely works to fraudsters. we are a legitimate freight company, but we too are caught in the middle with the use of our name in the email address and this leads to artist ringing us up to ask for rates. if the email address is [email protected], this is not us and is probably not a freight company. if any one from any of the magazines wants to contact me to discuss this, i do genuinely want to let all artists in Britain know of the scam because i am sure there are people emailing that address and being scammed. please call us if you need any help or indeed if you think someone or something is sounding to good the rule is if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
