Two paintings accepted for the 2018 Patchings exhibition.

I am delighted to have had two of my oil paintings accepted for this year's exhibition. 'View from a Window - First Frost' has been chosen in the Leisure Painter category (see pic), and 'The Pier at Sandown' has been selected in The Artist category. (on my gallery). Just goes to show, it's always worth having a go!

Thank you Carolyn, that is so kind of you.

Congratulations to you Alan! What a gorgeous painting! I love it!! Well done.

Thank you for those kind words Rachel.

That's brilliant Alan.. really pleased for you. Love the colours in this one its beautiful. Will hopefully get to patchings this year.

Cheers Carole and Lew, much appreciated, the competition for awards is always tough!

Two excellent pieces, Alan. Good luck in the exhibition.

Well deserved Alan, always beautiful! These won't linger very long!

Thanks Louise, Tessa, John and The Swinley Group, very much appreciated.

Well done Alan, lovely painting.

HOPE IT FINDS A HOME ON SOMEONES WALL ALAN. A BEAUTIFUL PIECE OF WORK.

Well done Alan, no worries about that coming home! Lovely painting.

Thanks Alan. I'm a good two hour drive from Nottingham and that's if the motorway isn't jammed as it usually is these days. The distance puts me off and I always wonder who wraps up unsold work if it's being collected by couriers? Luckily you live nearer and I'm sure you'll do well. A venue up the road from our house would suit me..lol

Many thanks Sylvia, Margaret, Sarah, Gudrun and Fiona, most kind of you. Gudrun, Amateur artist's can enter the professional category, I did check this with Dawn a couple of years ago.

Well done Alan! I never had any doubts that you would be accepted....superior works!

This is indeed a splendid painting. I think I mentioned this at the time you posted it. I may be a little bit dim, but how can you enter both competitions? I might have misunderstood that Artists is for professionals and Leisure not? In any case, it's not up to me, and both are worthy. So enjoy it!

Congratulations Alan. Your painting that you have posted above is a real smasher! I don't think that will be coming home again :)

Many congratulations Alan, you must be delighted! This painting is really super as is your other one.

So pleased for you Alan. . 🙃

Thank you Ellen and Russell for your reply, appreciated.

This has to be one of your best paintings Alan, odds on for yet another prize I would suggest. Many congratulations.

Congratulations, Alan. Well deserved.

Thank you Louise, I appreciate it. It's the first year that I've had a work accepted in The Artist category. When I send out paintings that I've sold online, I always use the clear Perspex, Clear-Vue or something like that. It's every bit as clear as glass and will travel through the post. These two for Patchings are oil paintings. The previous two years I have sent them via DPD and had no issues at all. As I'm only an hour or so away from Nottingham, and as I have two this time, I will take them myself. The worst nightmare is them getting lost! I have been lucky so far in that I've sold the last two paintings at the exhibition, so I haven't had to retrieve them. Thanks once again for your congratulations.

Many congratulations Alan, two super paintings! Can I ask, will you be delivering the paintings to Patchings yourself or by courier. Delivery of work always seems to put me off entering any open competitions and then, if the work is unsold it has to be collected. I know some use couriers but I think work framed behind glass would be tricky to pack properly. I don't know where you live, perhaps it's not too far for you to travel by car but I wish you the best of luck and again, many congratulations :)
