My exhibition saw three sales and just two days after it finished I was off for a 5 week road trip around Suffolk, linking dog-sits for friends with holiday cottages. On trips like this we love to walk empty beaches and countryside, and time for setting up an easel is very limited, so my travelling sketchbook is used to gather ideas for future paintings, but mainly as a visual memory of favourite places visited. I will upload some of these over this last week of our trip. My method is to sketch a scene quickly in pencil, with colour notes, take a record photo, then add watercolour and ink at our accommodation later.
