The Stockport Art Guild was founded in 1919 and grew out of the Arts and Crafts movement inspired by William Morris. Since our foundation, our aim has always been to promote and encourage artistic expression by everyone within our community. The guild has been based in the Stockport War Memorial Art Gallery since it was built shortly after the First World War and we continue to be based there to this day.
