I am excited to say that I am to be the next Chairperson of the S. Wales Art Society. Anthony Batey has been Chairman for some years and will be a very hard act to follow. He and Arnold Lowrey have both told me that they will give me all the guidance they can. With support from such artists as these, I hope I won't disappoint them!! The position starts in the Spring, so there is plenty of time to panic!!!!!!!!

  • Congratulations Jennifer. My dad John Balleine was a member of the SWAS many years ago. He gave me great encouragement and inspiration in painting and drawing, and I remember going to exhibitions with him, and meeting some of the artists.
Glad to know it’s still going strong, and I wish you well. I’m sure you’ll do a great job.

  • You'll do a great job Jennifer, this is very exciting for you so jolly well done. I was chair of my local art group many years ago now, it is a demanding role but you'll be up to the challenge for sure.

  • Thank you for the info. Tessa. That is very interesting. Thank you also for your very kind, good wishes.

I will let you know how it goes, Margaret! Fingers crossed!

Thank you for your kindness, Alan. I'll certainly give it my all. We have broken for Christmas now, but I'm sure it will be 'action stations' as soon as we get back in January.
