Paris Street

Paris Street

Loose watercolour with a unifying under painting and lots of dry-brushed rough edges

This was painted as a time filler while I was at the Ten Artists exhibition last October, an annual fundraiser which does what it says on the tin; ten new paintings from each of ten artists (or nine plus one sculptor, the amazing Jason Heppenstall), which has raised more than £30,000 for its cause, Sheffield Samaritans, since it's inception. I usually stick around for the full weekend to talk to people and to paint at the easel. No architectural detail in the sketch, just the major masses, with all the features added quickly with the brush This years Ten Artists will be held in Baslow, Derbyshire on Sat/Sun 26/27 October
