Acrylic Pours

Acrylic Pours

A way to explore acrylics.

I have recently been drawn into trying out acrylic pours. Not as easy as it would seem! A lot of experimentation is needed to find the correct mix and consistency of paint using various pouring mediums. There are many failures and also some surprising results. Starting fairly small is the best way, I have been working on canvases that are just 6" x 6" square, hopefully I will ve able to advance to larger pieces of work.

I work in a similar fashion with acrylic ink - just posted my latest. I have to agree its not as easy as people imaging. Contrary to the views of some it takes not only practice but also artistic skill in choosing colour combinations and coaxing the inks to behave in a certain way to obtain a pleasing composition. interest seems to be increasing I my neck of the woods and I now give more demos in abstract work than I do in traditional watercolours which is really pleasing - to me at least.

Thanks Adele Elgood, I will try to find the forum. You are right, very messy!

We had a thread running on the Forum about this type of art Chris. I love it, but it is too messy for me.
