Winsor & Newton and the Royal Academy of Arts - a Creative Partnership

Royal Academy of Arts President Christopher Le Brun introduces an evening of talks and discussion from experts that delve into the world of colour in artistic practice.

Introduced by the President of the Royal Academy of Arts, Christopher Le Brun, and moderated by art historian Ben Street, The Art and Science of Colour recently brought together three experts to delve into the world of colour in artistic practice.

David Batchelor, Ian McKeever and Ruth Siddall discussed their very personal relationships with colour, what it can teach us about art and what it reveals about our relationship with the world. In the film below, you can enjoy the evening in full, including individual talks and a panel discussion with questions from the floor.

The Art and Science of Colour was the first event in the creative partnership between Winsor & Newton and the Royal Academy of Arts. Set inside the opulent Reynolds Room at the Royal Academy of Arts, our trio of colour experts – two artists and a geologist – had the opportunity to discuss colour in all of its breathtaking forms.
