Small works of art raising money for the Hepatitis C Trust

The artistic community has rallied together to support the Hepatitis C Trust and Art On A Postcard in their aim to eliminate hepatitis C as a major public health concern in the UK within 15 years.

The varied and talented group of artists to have showed their support for Art On A Postcard’s flagship secret auction includes godfather of pop art Peter Blake, influential teacher of the YBAs and curator of this year’s Summer Exhibition, Michael Craig Martin, Harland Miller, Polly Morgan, David Shrigley, Jasper Joffe, Stuart Semple, Chantal Joffe, Jeremy Deller, Trevor Sutton, Royal Academicians such as Bob and Roberta Smith RA, Stephen Farthing RA and Stephen Chambers RA, street artists such as Ben Eine, Hush, Pure Evil, Swifty, Xenz and emerging talent such as Lauren Baker, Jessica Charleston and Archie Franks. The unique event will take place at Soho Revue Gallery in mid-November; the latest confirmed artists are announced on the Art On A Harland Miller, 2014 Postcard blog.

Gemma Peppe, Head of Fundraising and Events for Art On A Postcard, explains ‘we’re thrilled that the quality of the contributors for this year's Art on a Postcard is so high. We've been working overtime to sign up the most interesting painters and illustrators around, as well as the most collectable. Buying from Art On A Postcard is a great way for members of the public to own an original piece of work by a well-known artist and support The Hepatitis C Trust’s goals of eliminating hepatitis C within 15 years and closing down as a charity – realistic goals given that it is a preventable and treatable disease.’

The first Art On A Postcard fundraising event took place in November 2014. Well-known artists including Damien Hirst, Gilbert and George, Sam Taylor-Johnson, Marc Quinn, Jeremy Deller, Cecily Brown and Gavin Turk, upcoming talent such as Hannah Hewetson, Hayden Kays and Cosmo Sarson, urban artists Xenz, Hush and Pure Evil and photographers such as Dougie Wallace and Joycelin Bain Hogg donated postcard-sized works which were sold in a secret auction at Whitfield Fine Art. The event raised £45k for the Trust and was a huge success capturing the imagination of the public and artists alike.
