Lesley Birch has painting selected for ING Discerning Eye exhibition

Lesley Birch, winner of the coveted Artist Magazine Award 2016, has now had a painting selected in the prestigious ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in London.

Yorkshire artist, Lesley Birch, winner of the coveted The Artist Magazine Award 2016, has now had a painting selected in the prestigious ING Discerning Eye Exhibition in London.

Her oil painting entitled The Green Wood (see below) will be included in the event at the Mall Galleries from November 17 to 27 after one of the critics chose her work to be exhibited.

'Work is selected from open submission and from artists invited by the individual selectors,' explains Lesley, who was the keyboard player with chart-topping '80s band Hue and Cry.

'Each selector's section is hung separately giving the impression of six small exhibitions within the whole. This is the second time I’ve submitted for this show and I’m really excited to have a piece selected. It’s a wonderful exhibition.'

Lesley is a member of Creative Coverage, which represents selected professional artists and craftspeople and fellow member David Gould from Wales has had two paintings selected for the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition.
