Jackson's Open Painting Prize - Call for Entries

Jackson’s Art Supplies is thrilled to announce the launch of the third International Jackson’s Open Painting Prize.

Jackson’s Art Supplies is thrilled to announce the launch of the third International Jackson’s Open Painting Prize.

This year will be more exciting than ever, with a top prize of £5000, a People’s Choice Prize of £2000 and six category prizes of £500 as well as the opportunity for finalists’ work to be exhibited in London at the Hampstead Affordable Art Fair.

Entries of any theme will be accepted and will be judged initially online, as a single JPEG or PNG image. We’re honoured to have an esteemed group of expert judges to decide the finalists and overall winner, including Peter Brown NEAC (British figurative painter), Luci Noel (director of the Affordable Art Fair Hampstead and Battersea, Autumn Collection), Jacqui McIntosh (exhibition manager, Drawing Room Gallery), Siska Lyssens (freelance arts writer), Mark Roscoe (portrait artist and winner of the Jackson’s Open Painting Prize 2017) and Karl Bielik (abstract painter). With a real mixture of world renowned artists combined with an international writer, gallery manager and Art Fair Director, we have a panel that is as varied and exciting as the world of contemporary fine art painting itself.

Artists who get through the first round of judging, therefore winning a place on the Long List, can look forward to having their work displayed permanently on our online gallery. They will also be eligible for the People’s Choice Award which will be decided by a public vote.

The following six category prizes will then be awarded by the Jackson’s judging panel, so as each subject can be judged amongst its peers: portrait/figure, animals, still life/botanical, non-representational/abstract, landscape/cityscape/seascape and scenes of everyday life.
