How do you perceive abstract art?

Artist. Alan Bickley, would be interested to hear your views on abstract and semi-abstract art.

PaintersOnline gallery artist Alan Bickley was pleased to have his painting. The White Cottage, Llanbedrog (see below), selected by editor, Sally Bulgin to feature in the summer issue of The Artist as Editor's Gallery Choice.

Alan says: 'I have put enormous effort into developing my style this year and I am starting to see my hard work flourish, particularly since joining PaintersOnline recently. To have my work showcased in such a prestigious magazine is a huge compliment, and I hope to continue to develop my ideas and take them to the next level. I am always striving to achieve that end goal but am only too aware that it takes total dedication and commitment to make it happen'.

Alan would love to hear the views of other artists regarding abstract or semi-abstract art. How do you perceive abstract art? Do you find it refreshing or confusing?

This was posted before I could finish it, so to continue. I have been moving towards abstraction for many years now and I like what I see in your work. I would be interested if you could comment on mine, I do have quite a few you could classify as slightly abstract.
