Calling All Oil Painters
The Royal Institute of Oil Painters seek submissions that illustrate the many and varied ways in which artists use oil paint today.
Submissions are invited to the Royal Institute of Oil Painters (ROI) Annual Exhibition 2016 at Mall Galleries.
Founded in 1882, the ROI seeks work in oils and is the only national art society devoted exclusively to oil painting.
There are many prizes and awards available to win, including:
The Alan Gourley Memorial Award - £1,000
The Stanley Grimm Prize - Two awards of £700, to the painters whose work receive the most votes from visitors to the exhibition
Winsor & Newton Oil Painters Awards (for artists aged 35 or under) - £1,000, £600 and £400 worth of Winsor & Newton Fine Art Materials
Winsor & Newton Non-Member Award - £150 worth of Winsor & Newton Fine Art Materials
The DAS Award - £500 and Bristol Blue Glass Bowl
The Le Clerc Fowle Medal
L. Cornelissen & Son - a contemporary version of a Victorian Oil Painter's equipment
Frank Herring Easel Award - an easel
The Menena Joy Schwabe Memorial Award - £250
The Phyllis Roberts Award - £2,000 to a young painter
The Artist Magazine Award - a feature in The Artist magazine
The Dry Red Press Award - Work published as a greeting card.

Online Submissions Open: Monday 23 May 2016, 12 noon
Online Submissions Close: Friday 26 August, 12 noon
Pre-Selection Notification: Friday 2 September, 12 noon
Receiving Day (if pre-selected only): Saturday 1 October, 10am to 5pm
Acceptance Notification: Tuesday 4 October, 12 noon
Collection of Unaccepted Work: Thursday 6 October, 10am to 5pm
Exhibition Open: Wednesday 30 November, 10am to 5pm
Exhibition Closes: Saturday 11 December, 1pm
Unsold Collection: Thursday 15 December, 10am to 5pm
