Applications are now open for the 2017 popular York Open Studios event which sees artists across the York area welcoming visitors into their studios. The event, which will run across two weekends in April 2017, is open to artists and craftspeople working in a wide variety of media and full application details are available on the website www.yorkopenstudios.co.uk. The deadline for applications is 12 September 2016 and both new and established artists are encouraged to apply. For visitors it's a chance to take a peek into the workshops of painters, printmakers, potters, sculptors, jewellers and a host of other artists and for the artists themselves it presents a unique opportunity to promote their work directly to art lovers. There is also a generous financial bursary available for artists with installation work to help with their development.
