Staffs, United Kingdom
I studied art at school and then went to Leek Art School, where I met some fabulous people who taught me a lot, and the staff were pretty good too. I then took a degree in art at Manchester until 1987. Then I stopped altogether and switched direction to music, and then teaching design, both of which I have done for the last 20 plus years. In 2004 I took life classes for a couple of terms, where I developed a taste for working rapidly, and enjoying making marks. Then another break until I started to draw again a couple of years ago on holidays aiming to fill a sketchbook each holiday. In late August 2017 I started painting again and this time I managed to paint 100 images by the end of the year. After a week or so off for Christmas I am back in the flow and am thoroughly enjoying it.
This year I want to start using oils again, as soon as the weather improves, and get out to do some more plein air. I also want to enter as many competitions as I can this year as well.
