It's progressing well Marjorie but I do think it needs a seasonal twist. If it were me I would make more of the fireplace and make the candlesticks and mirror larger and more of a feature, perhaps paint them gold. You could hang a glass bauble on the spider plant lol!

Fab colour.... A star on the top of the spider plant. Is it my imagination that he oranges are a tad larger than the Cup and saucer? Or are they Demi tasse coffee cup and saucer. ? Loads of imagination.

I think it looks really great Marjorie and the red is lovely! The oranges will stop floating if you put a shadow under them. The only thing I would change are the two frames behind the candlesticks. I would remove them because the focus is on the plant which sits beautifully in the glass bowl. It's a lovely still life Marjorie.

Sylvia, it is a tiny cup and saucer- silly to put it in perhaps because no one will know that. I did add some silly bits on the spider plant with my I pad - see " for Christine".

Thankyou Christine, Dennis, Sylvia, Fiona and Satu. Satu, I will remove the pictures and I'm planning to use oils over the top, it's only on mountboard and it's a learning curve.

I think this is great as it is, Marjorie! I love red, so your palette works well for me. I love the tecup and saucer, oranges and spider plant. The fireplace is lovely in the background. Overall, it is quite Shirley Trevena-ish.

This is definitely an experiment. The oranges are floating a bit, I may put a different colour over the red, my husband says it's a bit sinister...
