  • Stephen I think the far hills and bank of trees are good the trees getting nearer as you move right with good tonal change and definition. I find the left hand bank jumping forward with a tone much stronger than the foreground and the right hand bank could perhaps have the overall warm broken up with some cooler colours and varied shapes. What about stronger reflections and strengthening the foreground to bring it forward ? Hope this isn.t too much but it is what I want as feedback to my own submissions.

  • I like the water Stephen with the blues of the sky being picked up in the foreground. You've certainly caught that damp Yorkshire day feeling!

  • It's interesting how we all view paintings in different ways, many thanks everyone. Your comments are always well received Alan, I think you are certainly right that the foreground tones should be stronger.

  • Stephen you're getting right what I'm failing to achieve at the moment and that is, making use of distance and space. Love your faded hills and distant/righthand trees, the sky and water mirror one another, but I have to agree with Alan re the foreground, maybe a darker tone would make the perfect picture?
