I don't know much about horses, or ink for that matter but they look pretty good to me. The second looks better than the first I think, maybe the maine is a bit lumpy on the first of because it is so black it doesn't look as nice as the second where you can see what a nice job you have done.

Perhaps the first drawing would have been a better composition if all of the horse's body had been included, rather than cropped. It's worth continuing with the drawings, sometimes pencil, rather than pen is easier to convey texture.
