Like so many other folk I only did art up to my G.C.E 'O' level. When my family had grown and gone their own way, my husband and I did enjoy a terrific art break in Devon with Trudi Friend who was fantastic and got me back on track with drawing, but it was not until I had surgery for two new knees and my husband kindly sent me on a wonderful art holiday with Vivien Walters that I began again painting with pastels for the first time. My subject our then 5 year old dog Pippa. After which requests came in from other folks and I also offered to do them as a raffle prize for friends fundraising events. Now I am well and truly hooked back on painting and am now trying with Acrylic and even Oils! I am also fortunate enough to be a volunteer at the BoonRic gallery at Rainford up here in Lancashire. Joanne Boon-Thomas and Eric Fleming share some of their valuable gallery space because, along with some other students of Joanne we take turns to 'man' the gallery for them. Now
